Fire show and knight’s tournament in May

Kożuchów, as one of the oldest Polish cities, organises among others events which reflect its rich history. Among the most interesting annual events is the Knight’s Tournament which takes place in May during the Kożuchów Days. After a day of struggle of chivalry and archery you can see the exciting re-enactment of the battle of Kożuchów from 1309. The day ends with a spectacular fire show.

Organ and chamber music in August

Hear the most beautiful concerts within the framework of the Henrykowski Music Festival in Kożuchów in August performed in the medieval Parish Church of the Purification of the Virgin. The Henrykowski Music Festival is a new artistic project for the presentation of organ and chamber music. Musicians from around the world, including the virtuoso Michael Kocot of Kożuchów, bring works by great composers like Bach, Bartók, Caccini, Praetorius or Schubert played on pan flute, organ, guitar, piano and violin.

Apples and other delicacies

Another event worth mentioning is the Feast of Apples held in autumn. This is also a great time to try regional specialties.

The Feast of Apples will take place on 24th September 2016 at 14:00 at the Market Place.

The culture of the „Kresy” in October

Get in touch with the rich culture of the Kresy – Eastern Borderland (the lost eastern territories of Poland after World war II) – during the Lubuski Presentations of the Culture of the Poles from the Eastern Borderlands and Bukovina. Enjoy performances of traditional dances and music in colourful folk costumes.

A concert will take place on the 24th of October at 6.00 p.m.
